Day five bill introduction

Senators reconvened Jan. 14 to continue introduction of new bills.

Among the 66 measures introduced were:

LB195, sponsored by Pender Sen. Glen Meyer, which would provide immunity for administration of naloxone, nalmefene or other federally approved opioid overdose reversal medications;

LB196, introduced by Sen. Jared Storm of David City, which would authorize the operation of all-terrain vehicles and utility-type vehicles between the hours of sunset and sunrise if used for snow removal;

LB206, sponsored by Elkhorn Sen. R. Brad von Gillern, which would provide enhanced penalties for certain offenses committed in a disaster area during an emergency period;

LB213, introduced by Sen. Rick Holdcroft of Bellevue, which would require the State Board of Education to adopt academic content standards on human embryology under the science education standards;

LB217, sponsored by Omaha Sen. John Fredrickson, which would require suicide awareness and prevention training for employees of child-placing agencies and child welfare workers;

LB222, introduced by Sen. Terrell McKinney of Omaha, which would change duties of peace officers, the Superintendent of Law Enforcement and Public Safety and certain officers of the Nebraska State Patrol relating to stopping and detaining the operator of a vehicle;

LB241, sponsored by Syracuse Sen. Bob Hallstrom, which would provide immunity from liability for cybersecurity events;

LB242, introduced by Sen. Merv Riepe of Ralston, which would change the Property Tax Growth Limitation Act and the School District Property Tax Relief Act and change provisions relating to budget limitations, municipal occupation taxes and property tax statements;

LB246, sponsored by Niobrara Sen. Barry DeKay at the request of Gov. Jim Pillen, which would prohibit cultivated-protein food products under the Nebraska Pure Food Act and provide a deceptive trade practice; and

LB258, introduced by Sen. Jane Raybould of Lincoln, which would change provisions relating to the minimum wage under the Wage and Hour Act.
