Human relations teaching certificate change approved
Lawmakers passed a bill April 10 that changes a human relations training requirement for substitute teachers.

Currently, prospective teachers, substitutes and administrators must complete human relations training in order to be certified in Nebraska.
LB1022, introduced by Glenvil Sen. Dave Murman, creates an exception for applicants for a substitute teacher’s certificate. The exception also applies to military spouses or applicants who hold a certificate from another state.
The bill passed 37-12.
