Day 10 bill introduction

Senators introduced 98 measures on the final day of bill introduction Jan. 21.

Among the proposals were:

LB1169, introduced by Fremont Sen. Dave Wordekemper, which would prohibit assault on a court operations officer;

LB1175, sponsored by Sen. Wendy DeBoer of Bennington, which would change provisions relating to civil actions under the Parental Rights in Social Media Act;

LB1182, introduced by Central City Sen. Loren Lippincott, which would provide for a base salary for certified teachers and state intent relating to changes to the Tax Equity and Educational Opportunities Support Act and a new form of block grant funding;

LB1194, sponsored by Sen. Tanya Storer of Whitman, which would adopt the Real Food Act;

LB1204, introduced by Kearney Sen. Stan Clouse, which would adopt the Nameplate Capacity Tax Facility Standards Act and change provisions relating to property tax exemptions and the nameplate capacity tax;

LB1207, sponsored by Sen. Margo Juarez of Omaha, which would require school districts to provide mental health leave for school employees;

LB1228, introduced by Bellevue Sen. Rick Holdcroft, which would provide for a state docket fee and create funds for court purposes;

LB1232, sponsored by Sen. Paul Strommen of Sidney, which would provide for mountain lion hunting permits;

LB1244, introduced by Glenvil Sen. Dave Murman at the request of Gov. Jim Pillen, which would eliminate certain sales and use tax exemptions, impose sales and use tax on certain services and change provisions relating to the Nebraska Job Creation and Mainstreet Revitalization Act; and

LR311CA, sponsored by Sen. John Cavanaugh of Omaha, a proposed constitutional amendment to create a Commission on Redistricting and provide requirements for drawing election districts.
