Bills introduced Jan. 13

Lawmakers reconvened Jan. 13 to continue introducing new bills.

Among the measures introduced were:

  • LB348, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Scott Lautenbaugh, which would change employer liability provisions under the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Act;
  • LB356, sponsored by Holdrege Sen. Tom Carlson, which would authorize funding for administration of the Beginning Farmer Tax Credit Act;
  • LB371, sponsored by Columbus Sen. Paul Schumacher, which would provide for an unfair insurance trade practice relating to public officials;
  • LB374, sponsored by Norfolk Sen. Mike Flood, which would appropriate funds for state government expenses;
  • LB382, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Jeremy Nordquist, which would change deposit and contribution rates for certain retirement systems;
  • LB383, sponsored by Bellevue Sen. Abbie Cornett, which would eliminate state aid for municipalities, counties and natural resources districts;
  • LB385, sponsored by Hastings Sen. Dennis Utter, which would terminate provisions of the Low-Income Home Energy Conservation Act;
  • LB393, sponsored by Ogallala Sen. Ken Schilz, which would require state agencies to develop plans to use Nebraska biodiesel fuel;
  • LB408, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Tony Fulton, which would change provisions relating to divorce; and
  • LB419, sponsored by Omaha Sen. John Nelson, which would change restrictions on certain expenditures under the Nebraska Political Accountability and Disclosure Act.

New bills may be introduced for the first 10 legislative days, or until Jan. 19.

Committee hearings are scheduled to begin on Jan. 18 and continue through mid-March.
