Day four bill introduction

Senators reconvened Jan. 14 to introduce new bills.

Among the 39 measures introduced were:

LB226, sponsored by Grand Island Sen. Dan Quick, which would state intent relating to appropriations for the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center-Kearney and the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center-Geneva;

LB232, sponsored by Peru Sen. Julie Slama, which would reduce the threshold amount for claims against the state for prosecution costs;

LB238, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Patty Pansing Brooks, which would change requirements for witnessing death penalty executions;

LB240, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Matt Hansen, which would change procedures for determining competency to stand trial;

LB242, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Brett Lindstrom, which would adopt the Infrastructure Improvement and Replacement Assistance Act and provide for a turnback of state sales tax revenue;

LB243, sponsored by Creighton Sen. Tim Gragert, which would create the Healthy Soils Task Force;

LB249, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Sara Howard, which would change the statute of limitations for civil actions arising from a sexual assault;

LB251, sponsored by Fremont Sen. Lynne Walz, which would adopt the Child Hunger and Workforce Readiness Act;

LB252, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Suzanne Geist, which would provide a condition relating to advertisements by the state lottery; and

LB253, sponsored by Omaha Sen. John McCollister, which would adopt the Redistricting Act.
