Day eight bill introduction
Senators reconvened Jan. 16 to continue introduction of new bills.
Among the 28 measures introduced were:
LB1097, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Danielle Conrad, which would adopt the State and Political Subdivisions Sexual Abuse Liability Act;
LB1098, introduced by Sen. Margo Juarez of Omaha, which would adopt the State Rail Plan Act;
LB1100, sponsored by Elkhorn Sen. Tony Sorrentino, which would modernize language in a civil procedure statute;
LB1104, introduced by Sen. Robert Dover of Norfolk, which would provide for certain determinations relating to the avoidance of motor vehicle taxes and fees under the Motor Vehicle Registration Act;
LB1109, sponsored by Elkhorn Sen. R. Brad von Gillern at the request of Gov. Jim Pillen, which would eliminate certain sales and use tax exemptions and a renewable energy tax credit and change provisions relating to the Nebraska Advantage Research and Development Act and the ImagiNE Nebraska Act;
LB1111, introduced by Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh of Omaha, which would require an annual data center load report to the Nebraska Power Review Board, provide powers and duties for public power suppliers, allow and require regulation of data centers and change provisions relating to regulation of cryptocurrency mining operations;
LB1112, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Terrell McKinney, which would adopt the Statewide Standardized Grading System Act;
LB1117, introduced by Sen. Teresa Ibach of Sumner, which would change provisions relating to tuition waivers and provide for reimbursement to postsecondary institutions;
LB1120, sponsored by Blair Sen. Ben Hansen, which would authorize a progressive jackpot form of lottery and raffle under the Nebraska Lottery and Raffle Act and the Nebraska Small Lottery and Raffle Act; and
LB1121, introduced by Sen. Beau Ballard of Lincoln, which would adopt the Recreational Vehicle Industry Regulation Act, change provisions of the Motor Vehicle Industry Regulation Act and change provisions relating to recreational vehicles.
