Human trafficking immunity passed

A bill that provides legal immunity to victims of human trafficking was passed by the Legislature April 7.

LB843, introduced by Lincoln Sen. Patty Pansing Brooks, grants legal immunity from prostitution charges to any person proven by law enforcement to be a victim of labor or sex trafficking.

The bill passed on a 42-0 vote.
