Bill introduction begins
Lawmakers reconvened Jan. 7 to begin introduction of new bills.
Among the 123 measures introduced were:
LB722, sponsored by Grand Island Sen. Dan Quick, which would provide for use of the Behavioral Health Services Fund for individuals with substance use disorder;
LB732, introduced by Sen. Kathleen Kauth of Omaha, which would change provisions relating to the ability of a health care practitioner to provide cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers under the Let Them Grow Act;
LB734, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Megan Hunt, which would change waiver of work requirements under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program;
LB751, introduced by Sen. Ashlei Spivey of Omaha, which would require a study to improve reporting and investigation of missing Black women and children;
LB762, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. George Dungan, which would require insurance coverage of pediatric autoimmune disorders;
LB764, introduced by Sen. Rick Holdcroft of Bellevue, which would provide for certain Department of Correctional Services employees to be law enforcement officers;
LB791, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Jane Raybould, which would provide a contribution limit for candidate and ballot question committees under the Nebraska Political Accountability and Disclosure Act;
LB816, introduced by Sen. Tanya Storer of Whitman, which would provide privileges and immunities relating to peer support services communications by public safety personnel;
LB825, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Beau Ballard, which would require training on domestic abuse for mental health practitioners under the Uniform Credentialing Act; and
LR282, introduced by the Executive Board, which would provide for the expulsion of Amherst Sen. Dan McKeon from the Nebraska Legislature.
