Senators reconvened Jan. 12 to continue introduction of new bills.

Among the 32 measures introduced were:

LB980, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Terrell McKinney, which would provide for release for medical treatment, change provisions relating to medical parole and provide for parole eligibility for persons serving sentences of life imprisonment;

LB981, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Robert Hilkemann, which would revive the Trail Development Assistance Act and state intent to transfer funds;

LB983, sponsored by Columbus Sen. Mike Moser, which would change provisions relating to industrial development powers of counties, cities and villages;

LB989, sponsored by Gering Sen. John Stinner, which would appropriate funds for Medicaid nursing facility rates;

LB990, sponsored by Blair Sen. Ben Hansen, which would create the offense of stolen valor and provide a penalty;

LB991, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Adam Morfeld, which would appropriate funds to the Department of Transportation to conduct a feasibility study for high-speed commuter rail;

LB995, sponsored by Elkhorn Sen. Lou Ann Linehan, which would limit the total amount reimbursed by the state for homestead exemptions;

LB997, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Jen Day, which would change school entrance requirements;

LB1001, sponsored by Bayard Sen. Steve Erdman, which would limit the school term for school districts and educational service units; and

LB1009, sponsored by Plymouth Sen. Tom Brandt, which would adopt the Domestic Abuse Death Review Act.
