Day five bill introduction
Senators reconvened Jan. 11 to continue introduction of new bills.
Among the 22 measures introduced were:
LB960, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Tony Vargas, which would eliminate certain basic skill and content test requirements for eligibility for teaching certificates;
LB963, sponsored by Glenvil Sen. Dave Murman, which would adopt the Medical Ethics and Diversity Act;
LB965, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Eliot Bostar, which would change the day the state observes Arbor Day;
LB968, sponsored by Adams Sen. Myron Dorn, which would appropriate federal funds to the Department of Economic Development for affordable housing and job training;
LB970, sponsored by Hastings Sen. Steve Halloran, which would appropriate federal funds to the Department of Agriculture for catastrophic livestock mortality and disposal events; and
LB978, sponsored by Venango Sen. Dan Hughes, which would provide powers and duties relating to the treatment of dredged and fill material under the Environmental Protection Act.
