Bills introduced Jan. 19
Lawmakers reconvened Jan. 19 for the final day of new bill introduction.
Among the measures introduced were:
- LB554, sponsored by Scottsbluff Sen. John Harms, which would prohibit open containers of alcohol in or on a vessel, motorboat or personal watercraft;
- LB556, sponsored by Fullerton Sen. Annette Dubas, which would change the boundaries of Hamilton and Merrick counties;
- LB560, sponsored by Bellevue Sen. Abbie Cornett, which would provide for sales and use taxes on certain services;
- LB566, sponsored by Columbus Sen. Paul Schumacher, which would provide for online petition signatures for recall, initiative and referendum petitions;
- LB572, sponsored by Bellevue Sen. Scott Price, which would limit transfers of students between learning community member school districts;
- LB578, sponsored by Malcolm Sen. Ken Haar, which would require proof of financial responsibility from persons operating pipelines;
- LB610, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Pete Pirsch, which would provide procedures for recall of state elective officers;
- LB674, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Burke Harr, which would prohibit or restrict certain electronic monitoring of employees by employers;
- LB680, sponsored by Elk Creek Sen. Lavon Heidemann, which would adopt the School Employees Cash Balance Retirement Act; and
- LB690, sponsored by Bancroft Sen. Lydia Brasch, which would change consent and parental notification provisions regarding abortion.
