{"id":8452,"date":"2013-02-01T10:07:40","date_gmt":"2013-02-01T16:07:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/?p=8452"},"modified":"2013-03-11T12:34:30","modified_gmt":"2013-03-11T18:34:30","slug":"proof-of-age-bill-advances","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/?p=8452","title":{"rendered":"Proof of age bill advances"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Senators advanced a bill from general file Feb. 1 that would allow nonresidents to use a state-issued identification card to purchase alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>To purchase alcohol a customer currently must provide one of the following accepted forms of identification:<br \/>\n\u2022 a valid driver\u2019s or operator\u2019s license;<br \/>\n\u2022 a military identification card;<br \/>\n\u2022 an alien registration card;<br \/>\n\u2022 a passport; or<br \/>\n\u2022 a Nebraska state identification card.<\/p>\n<p>LB173, introduced by Lincoln Sen. Colby Coash, would add to that list a state identification card from any state. Coash said he introduced the bill because people holding valid state identification were being refused service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Nebraska sees more out-of-state guests, we need to make sure we are welcoming to them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Lincoln Sen.
