Brenda Council, which would change school board election and membership provisions;<br \/>\n\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=15201\" target=\"_blank\">LB723<\/a>, sponsored by Hoskins Sen. Dave Bloomfield, which would change provisions relating to small systems under the Nebraska Safe Drinking Water Act;<br \/>\n\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=15197\" target=\"_blank\">LB724<\/a>, sponsored by Valentine Sen. Deb Fischer, which would change commercial driver medical examination provisions and prohibit texting while driving a commercial motor vehicle;<br \/>\n\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=15249\" target=\"_blank\">LB736<\/a>, sponsored by Columbus Sen. Paul Schumacher, which would require provision of secret ballot envelopes for elections;<br \/>\n\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=15180\" target=\"_blank\">LB747<\/a>, sponsored by Kearney Sen. Galen Hadley, which would withdraw from and repeal the Midwest Interstate Passenger Rail Compact;<br \/>\n\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=15773\" target=\"_blank\">LB749<\/a>, sponsored by Bellevue Sen. Abbie Cornett, which would exempt indoor tanning services from sales and use taxes;<br \/>\n\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=15646\" target=\"_blank\">LB753<\/a>, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Bill Avery, which would create funds and provide funding for childhood obesity prevention measures through sales taxation of soft drinks;<br \/>\n\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=15458\" target=\"_blank\">LB765<\/a>, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Bob Krist, which would change bidding requirements relating to contracts with providers of certain health and social services;<br \/>\n\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=15215\" target=\"_blank\">LB767<\/a>, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Gwen Howard, which would require records of dates and hours of work for state officers and employees; and<br \/>\n\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=15226\" target=\"_blank\">LR358CA<\/a>, sponsored by Holdrege Sen. Tom Carlson, a proposed constitutional amendment to change legislative term limits to three terms.<\/p>\n<p>New bills may be introduced for the first 10 legislative days, or until Jan. 19.<\/p>\n<p>A complete list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/search_by_date.php?SessionDay=2012-01-04\" target=\"_blank\">bills introduced Jan. 4<\/a> is available at NebraskaLegislature.gov.<\/p>\n<p>Gov. Dave Heineman\u2019s State of the State address is scheduled for Jan. 12.
