{"id":3340,"date":"2011-02-14T16:22:18","date_gmt":"2011-02-14T22:22:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/?p=3340"},"modified":"2013-03-11T15:46:27","modified_gmt":"2013-03-11T21:46:27","slug":"bill-would-extend-fluoridation-opt-out-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/?p=3340","title":{"rendered":"Bill would extend fluoridation opt-out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Senators advanced a bill from general file Feb. 14 that would eliminate a deadline for cities and villages to opt out of Nebraska\u2019s mandatory drinking water fluoridation provisions.<\/p>\n<p>Under a bill passed by the 2008 Legislature, cities or villages with a population of at least 1,000 were required to add fluoride to their drinking water supply unless voters approved local opt-out ordinances by June 1, 2010. The fluoridation requirement does not apply to municipalities with a population under 1,000.<\/p>\n<p>LB36, sponsored by Scottsbluff Sen.
