Mark Kolterman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>LB607, introduced by Sen. Mark Kolterman of Seward, made a number of changes, including:<br \/>\n\u2022 creating a three-day license for a \u201cguest body artist\u201d enabling him or her to work at a licensed tattoo establishment or under a licensed body artist;<br \/>\n\u2022 creating the position of nail technology apprentice and allowing an apprentice to work under a licensed nail technologist;<br \/>\n\u2022 updating the definition of cosmetic tattooing;<br \/>\n\u2022 adding \u201cnatural nail\u201d treatment\u2014work done on a person\u2019s nails without adding to the nail\u2014to the definition of manicuring; and<br \/>\n\u2022 allowing the Board of Cosmetology, Electrology, Esthetics, Nail Technology and Body Art to administer licensing exams in multiple languages.<\/p>\n<p>LB607 passed on a 31-10 vote Aug. 13.<\/p>\n<p>Ricketts said in a veto letter that the bill would be burdensome on individuals who perform natural nail manicures and pedicures by imposing requirements that \u201cgo well beyond basic education and training in safe health and sanitation practices.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A bill that would have changed state law regulating nail technology and tattoo artists was vetoed by Gov.
