Patty Pansing Brooks<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Lincoln Sen. Patty Pansing Brooks introduced LR466 to affirm a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision, which held that an employer who fires an individual merely for being gay or transgender violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.<\/p>\n<p>Pansing Brooks said the resolution would send a strong message to employers and workers that Nebraska is committed to being a welcoming and inclusive state for all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBusiness leaders have been clear that workforce development is our state\u2019s number one business need,\u201d she said. \u201cWe need to do more to make sure our state competes for the talented young workers that we need.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elmwood Sen.
