Tom Briese<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>LB1064, introduced by Sen. Tom Briese of Albion, would raise the legal age to use and purchase tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, electronic nicotine delivery systems or alternative nicotine products from 19 to 21.<\/p>\n<p>Briese said change is necessary because the federal smoking age was raised to 21 in December 2019, shortly before Nebraska\u2019s age changed to 19.
