John Lowe, which would change and eliminate state Department of Agriculture provisions relating to publicity, publications and personnel;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=31219\">LB139<\/a>, sponsored by Bellevue Sen. Sue Crawford, which would authorize changes to nonpartisan election of county officials;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=31401\">LB144<\/a>, sponsored by Henderson Sen. Curt Friesen, which would change agricultural and horticultural adjusted valuations for calculating state aid to schools;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=31220\">LB145<\/a>, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Matt Hansen, which would provide for a hearing to determine financial ability to pay fines and costs and traffic citations and provide for community service;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=30903\">LB153<\/a>, sponsored by Heartwell Sen. John Kuehn, which would prohibit certain officeholders and public employees from being a lobbyist;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=31309\">LB158<\/a>, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Patty Pansing Brooks, which would change provisions relating to appointment of counsel for juveniles;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=31237\">LB160<\/a>, sponsored by Omaha Sen. John McCollister, which would expand the definition of victim as relates to crime victims\u2019 rights;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=31372\">LB162<\/a>, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Bob Krist, which would change provisions relating to criminal mischief and change and provide additional penalties for bribing or tampering with witnesses, informants or jurors;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=31138\">LB163<\/a>, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Tony Vargas, which would require additional polling places prior to elections in certain counties; and<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/view_bill.php?DocumentID=30679\">LR6<\/a>, sponsored by Crete Sen. Laura Ebke, which would call for a convention of the states to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>A complete list of bills introduced thus far is available at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nebraskalegislature.gov\/bills\/search_by_date.php?SessionDay=2017\">NebraskaLegislature.gov<\/a>. New bills may be introduced for the first 10 legislative days, or until Jan. 18.<\/p>\n<p>Gov. Pete Ricketts\u2019 State of the State address is scheduled for Jan. 12.
