These include Douglas, Lancaster and Sarpy counties.<\/p>\n<p>Under LB811, introduced by Bancroft Sen. Lydia Brasch, these vehicles instead would use the alphanumeric system otherwise used in those counties, which displays three letters followed by three numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Brasch said it would provide cost savings and increased efficiency for the state Department of Motor Vehicles, while impacting less than one half of 1 percent of license plates in those three counties.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhenever you find a [state] agency that is looking for way to cut its costs, it\u2019s important [that the Legislature] gives them support,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The bill advanced to select file on a 26-0 vote.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some Nebraska counties would have different license plate numbers under a bill advanced by the Legislature Feb. 16.
