{"id":16631,"date":"2015-03-03T13:13:17","date_gmt":"2015-03-03T19:13:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/?p=16631"},"modified":"2015-03-03T13:13:17","modified_gmt":"2015-03-03T19:13:17","slug":"dissolved-hoa-bill-advanced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/?p=16631","title":{"rendered":"Dissolved HOA bill advanced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lawmakers gave second-round approval March 3 to a bill that would provide a mechanism for a dissolved Home Owners Association (HOA) to achieve reinstatement.<\/p>\n<p>LB304, introduced by Lincoln Sen. Matt Hansen, would adopt the Municipal Custodianship for Dissolved Homeowners Associations Act. The bill would allow a municipality to be appointed custodian over a dissolved HOA.<\/p>\n<p>Hansen said the bill would allow a municipality to take over maintenance of any common areas that previously had been maintained by the HOA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese dissolved HOAs present problems to the municipalities,\u201d he said, adding that there are currently 26 dissolved HOAs in Lincoln.<\/p>\n<p>An Urban Affairs Committee amendment, adopted 26-0, made technical changes to the bill.
