{"id":16504,"date":"2015-02-24T12:33:36","date_gmt":"2015-02-24T18:33:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/?p=16504"},"modified":"2015-02-24T12:33:36","modified_gmt":"2015-02-24T18:33:36","slug":"dhhs-fund-transfer-approved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/?p=16504","title":{"rendered":"DHHS fund transfer approved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Senators passed a bill Feb. 24 that corrects an error in appropriation for the Nebraska Children\u2019s Commission and allows a transfer within the state Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).<\/p>\n<p>In 2013, the Legislature moved the Nebraska Children\u2019s Commission from DHHS to the Foster Care Review Office. However, $94,000 of the commission\u2019s appropriation was inadvertently left in the DHHS budget.<\/p>\n<p>LB430, introduced by Omaha Sen. Heath Mello, moves that amount to the Foster Care Review Office.<\/p>\n<p>The bill was amended on select file to transfer $7 million of unexpended general funds from the DHHS public assistance program to the child welfare program.
