{"id":10968,"date":"2013-03-21T10:34:11","date_gmt":"2013-03-21T16:34:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/?p=10968"},"modified":"2013-03-21T10:34:11","modified_gmt":"2013-03-21T16:34:11","slug":"partnership-proposed-for-health-care-system-evaluation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/?p=10968","title":{"rendered":"Partnership proposed for health care system evaluation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Health and Human Services Committee heard testimony March 20 on a resolution that would create a partnership to examine how best to control costs and improve quality in Nebraska\u2019s health care system.<\/p>\n<p>LR22, introduced by Lincoln Sen. Kathy Campbell, would designate the Health and Human Services Committee, in cooperation with the Banking, Commerce and Insurance Committee, to convene a Partnership Towards Nebraska&#8217;s Health Care System Transformation.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership would bring together policymakers and stakeholders at all levels to work toward the following goals:<br \/>\n\u2022 providing a comprehensive review of Nebraska&#8217;s health care delivery, cost and coverage demands;<br \/>\n\u2022 engaging partners in dialogue, roundtable discussions and public policy discourse;<br \/>\n\u2022 developing a framework for health care system transformation to meet public health, workforce, delivery and budgetary responsibilities; and<br \/>\n\u2022 developing cooperative strategies and initiatives for the design, implementation and accountability of services to improve care, quality and value while advancing the overall health of Nebraskans.<\/p>\n<p>Campbell said passage of federal health care reform has provided the state an opportunity to discuss what Nebraska\u2019s health care priorities should be and how to achieve them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLR22 sets the wheels in motion to get us to think creatively and innovatively,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>James Goddard of Nebraska Appleseed testified in support of the resolution, saying policymakers should work to ensure that Nebraskans who will now have access to health care are entering a functional health care system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a good first step toward changing the health care delivery system in Nebraska,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>No one testified in opposition to the resolution and the committee took no immediate action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Health and Human Services Committee heard testimony March 20 on a resolution that would create a partnership to examine<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"colormag_page_container_layout":"default_layout","colormag_page_sidebar_layout":"default_layout","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","default_image_id":0,"font":"","enabled":false},"version":2}},"categories":[12],"tags":[78],"class_list":["post-10968","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-health-and-human-services","tag-sen-kathy-campbell"],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10968","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=10968"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10968\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":10972,"href":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10968\/revisions\/10972"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=10968"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=10968"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/update.legislature.ne.gov\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=10968"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
