Senators reconvened Jan. 9 to continue introduction of new bills.

Among the 60 measures introduced were:

LB150, introduced by Norfolk Sen. Robert Dover, which would change provisions relating to entertainment districts under the Nebraska Liquor Control Act;

LB153, introduced by Sen. Wendy DeBoer of Bennington, which would adopt the Extraordinary Increase in Special Education Expenditures Act;

LB163, introduced by Omaha Sen. Terrell McKinney, which would provide for various reforms to jails and prisons, provide certain protections for prisoners, prohibit construction or expansion of prisons and jails as prescribed and provide for oversight of the state Department of Correctional Services during an overcrowding emergency by the Judiciary Committee;

LB169, introduced by Sen. Megan Hunt of Omaha, which would prohibit discrimination based upon sexual orientation and gender identity;

LB179, introduced by Omaha Sen. John Fredrickson, which would prohibit conversion therapy;

LB180, introduced by Sen. Tom Brandt of Plymouth, which would adopt the Nebraska Biodiesel Tax Credit Act;

LB188, introduced by Sen. Ben Hansen of Blair, which would authorize the commission of education to issue temporary certificates to teach to veterans as prescribed;

LB194, introduced by Sen. Steve Halloran of Hastings, which would adopt the Second Amendment Preservation Act;

LB199, introduced by Gordon Sen. Tom Brewer, which would provide for a driving privilege card to federally authorized aliens; and

LB205, introduced by Sen. R. Brad von Gillern of Elkhorn, which would adopt the Government Neutrality in Contracting Act.
