Senators reconvened Jan. 3 to begin introduction of new bills.

Among the 81 measures introduced were:

LB829, introduced by Sen. Carol Blood of Bellevue, which would change provisions relating to insurance coverage for screening for colorectal cancer;

LB842, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Terrell McKinney, which would change provisions relating to affordable housing under the Municipal Density and Missing Middle Housing Act, the Nebraska Affordable Housing Act and the Nebraska Housing Agency Act;

LB845, introduced by Sen. Megan Hunt of Omaha, which would prohibit eviction of certain tenants during the school year;

LB861, sponsored by Elkhorn Sen. Lou Ann Linehan, which would change procedures to remove a name from a petition under the Election Act;

LB871, introduced by Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh of Omaha, which would require a report by the state Department of Health and Human Services regarding the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program;

LB874, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Eliot Bostar, which would change requirements relating to child care licensing and child care facilities;

LB878, introduced by Sen. Rick Holdcroft of Bellevue, which would change provisions regarding certain bond and related elections;

LB883, sponsored by Gordon Sen. Tom Brewer, which would eliminate the requirement to obtain a handgun purchase certificate and change provisions on criminal history record checks for firearms and explosives;

LB893, introduced by Sen. Teresa Ibach of Sumner, which would change provisions of the ImagiNE Nebraska Act relating to the types of property receiving a property tax exemption; and

LB897, sponsored by Sen. Loren Lippincott of Central City, which would appropriate funds to the state Department of Economic Development for a workforce housing grant program.
