Senators reconvened Jan. 13 to continue introduction of new bills.

Among the 32 measures introduced were:

LB1015, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Mike Hilgers, which would adopt the Perkins County Canal Project Act;

LB1016, sponsored by Fremont Sen. Lynne Walz, which would provide for public-private partnerships under the Transportation Innovation Act;

LB1019, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Terrell McKinney, which would require the Department of Health and Human Services to establish a family resource and juvenile assessment center pilot program;

LB1023, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Mike Hilgers, which would adopt the Lake Development Act and the Water Recreation Enhancement Act;

LB1024, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Justin Wayne, which would adopt the North Omaha Recovery Act and state intent regarding appropriation of federal funds;

LB1027, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Megan Hunt, which would provide for grants to schools that discontinue use of American Indian mascots;

LB1030, sponsored by Henderson Sen. Curt Friesen, which would exempt all tangible personal property from property tax;

LB1036, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Steve Lathrop, which would provide for problem-solving court referees;

LB1037, sponsored by La Vista Sen. John Arch, which would require the Department of Administrative Services to contract for an evaluation of the state’s procurement practices; and

LB1041, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Mike McDonnell, which would appropriate federal funds to the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority for loans for development of affordable housing units.
