Supreme Court redistricting bill passed

Senators gave final approval May 20 to the first of six redistricting proposals.

LB699, introduced by the Redistricting Committee, redraws boundary lines for the six judicial districts of the Nebraska Supreme Court.

As amended on select file, the map expands District 3 into western Douglas and Sarpy counties. Seward County is shifted from District 5 to District 1 and all of Cass County is placed in District 5.

Lawmakers approved the bill on a 45-0 vote.
