Day 10 bill introduction
Senators introduced 116 measures on the final day of bill introduction Jan. 17.
Among the proposals were:
LB1310, introduced by Sen. Joni Albrecht of Thurston, which would adopt the Advertising Services Tax Act and eliminate certain sales and use tax exemptions;
LB1315, sponsored by Elkhorn Sen. Lou Ann Linehan, which would change the sales tax rate;
LB1321, introduced by Sen. John Arch of La Vista, which would change provisions relating to the Public Counsel, Inspector General of Nebraska Child Welfare and Inspector General of the Nebraska Correctional System;
LB1330, sponsored by Glenvil Sen. Dave Murman, which would prohibit public educational institutions from taking certain actions relating to diversity, equity and inclusion;
LB1332, introduced by Sen. George Dungan of Lincoln, which would adopt the Prepaid Card Consumer Protection Act;
LB1339, sponsored by Gordon Sen. Tom Brewer, which would change provisions relating to possession of firearms in schools and authorize schools to provide emergency response mapping data to public safety agencies;
LB1346, introduced by Sen. Tony Vargas of Omaha, which would provide a property tax exemption for qualified affordable housing developments;
LB1375, sponsored by Kearney Sen. John Lowe at the request of Gov. Jim Pillen, which would change powers and duties of county planning commissions and county boards related to conditional use permits and special exceptions;
LB1382, introduced by Sen. Ben Hansen of Blair, which would prohibit paying petition circulators based on the number of signatures and prohibit certain contributions to ballot question committees; and
LB1400, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Beau Ballard at the request of the governor, which would adopt the Relocation Incentive Act and provide tax incentives.
